CUSTOMER CASE STUDY with RSA:
Building trust in the CloudThis session explains key issues in enabling secure, compliant and trusted cloud computing. The IT industry is facing an opportunity to use the cloud to transform IT infrastructures, applications and information management. But before we can believe the cloud is safe for real business, we need a secure foundation of dynamic controls and trustworthy measurement. With this capability, a provider can report on the configuration of the virtual infrastructure used by the customer VMs and tie this to a verifiable measurement of trust in the physical and virtual infrastructure.

CUSTOMER CASE STUDY with QR National:
Using High-end Storage to transform application and service deliveryQR National is the largest rail freight haulage operator in Australia, operating in key freight sectors and supply chains across the country. Prior to the privatization in late 2010, QR were grappling with stability issues within their virtualized environment. To compound these challenges further QR also had to manage the privatization of the organization which involved the splitting of QR Ltd into two companies.
Hear from David Chesterfield, Manager IT Services about how, through this time of disruptive change they were able to transform the IT infrastructure with the support of EMC technology, resulting in;
- performance improvements across critical applications
- resolution of the stability issues
- overall enhancement to service delivery

DEMONSTRATION OF TECHNOLOGY:
Proudly sponsored by Cisco & VMware

Cisco has been working with EMC for some time now developing advanced “Next Generation” Data Center technologies to help augment virtualized Data Centers. This session will cover areas such as Data Center Bridge Exchange (DCBx) Ethernet technology with an emphasis on how we can best introduce and utilize DCBx in our current Data Center environments.
We will explore Data Center Interconnect technology such as OTV (Overlay Transport Virtualization) and Cisco Fabric Path to see how this can help customers achieve workload and storage mobility across POD’s within a Data Center or across multiple geographically diverse Data Centers.

DEMONSTRATION OF TECHNOLOGY:
Proudly sponsored by Cisco & VMware

Come to this session to see how the Vblock can change an organizations approach to infrastructure services. Moving away from the traditional method of individually managed components to a self-contained ‘infrastructure appliance’ with a single point of management. This session will focus on the new automated abilities for the provisioning, maintenance, and decommissioning of physical resources in the Vblock environment. See how Ionix Unified Infrastructure Manager (UIM) helps turn the individual components contained within a Vblock into an infrastructure appliance with a single point of management for all compute, network, storage and virtual resources.
The ability to automatically provision a ‘ready to go’ operational cluster within VMware vCenter will be demonstrated covering all compute, storage and network resources.
