Chuck Hollis, VP – Global Marketing CTO - EMC Corporation

A 16-year EMC veteran, Chuck is a key member of EMC's management team, working on strategic aspects of marketing, business development and technology. He is a popular industry blogger (http://chucksblog.emc.com) and also is leading EMC's social media proficiency initiative.

Previously, Chuck ran EMC's Technology Alliances organization, building strong partnerships that deliver customers superior multi-vendor solutions. Prior to that, he was VP of Strategic Marketing, where he helped map out key aspects of EMC's transformation strategy, messaging and field execution.

Chuck has also been EMC's VP of Storage Platforms Marketing, responsible for EMC's overall platform product strategy and offerings across all major market segments. Chuck has also had significant field roles, including Director of Sales Operations, leading the Professional Services and Systems Engineering organizations for EMC in Europe.

Chuck originally came to EMC as part of an initial team to help EMC enter the open systems market. Since then, he has been at the forefront of many of EMC's go-to-market initiatives, including specific application markets (ERP, NT and DW) as well as storage-based initiatives (Enterprise Storage, storage software and Enterprise Storage Networks).

Prior to EMC, Chuck worked at several UNIX and database companies in Silicon Valley. Chuck has received degrees in Computer Science and Economics from University of California at Santa Cruz.

Andy Solterbeck, General Manager – RSA, Australia and New Zealand

Andy is responsible for leading the strategic direction of RSA in the ANZ region, with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. He is a globally recognised expert in security and a respected member of several high profile government and industry advisory boards including the Critical Infrastructure Advisory Board to the Attorney General.

Andy has held a range of high level management positions in the security industry, including his most recent role as Director of Security Services of Telstra’s Enterprise and Government Division. Prior to Telstra, he was based in the US and was the VP and CTO of the Enterprise Business Units of Safenet, a security solutions company specialised in encryption technologies.

Clive Gold, Marketing CTO - EMC Australia and New Zealand

Clive has nearly 30 years’ experience in the IT industry and joined EMC in 1999. He is currently the Marketing Chief Technology Officer for this region and is responsible for communicating EMC’s technology vision, strategy and direction. Clive is currently the Chairman of the Storage Networking Industry Association’s International Steering Committee as well as Vice Chairman of the local chapter, SNIA-ANZ.

Having commenced his career with Hewlett-Packard, Clive subsequently held a variety of senior positions in sales, marketing and services, with companies including Dimension Data and Pyramid Technology.

Clive holds Masters Degree in Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Chris Troiani, vSpecialist - EMC Australia and New Zealand

Chris Troiani, is a vSpecialist, and member of the Virtual Computing Environment Coalition (VCE) Solution support Team for EMC Australia and New Zealand. Chris is responsible for the driving of the VCE Technical integration messaging throughout the EMC Client Base and Partner Channel. Joining EMC in 2008, Chris has more than ten years’ experience in the IT industry, holding various VMware Centric technology roles since 2001, as a part of the VMware VAC Partner Channel.

Brett Williams, Senior Technology Consultant - RSA, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ)

Brett is a Senior Technology Consultant at EMC RSA. Working across industry sectors including finance, government, health and education, he is responsible for helping customers better manage their risk and information security, in cloud and virtual environments.

Brett has over 18 years’ experience working in IT infrastructure sales with a focus on identity and access management, end user computing and virtualisation.  Prior to joining EMC RSA, Williams spent nine years at Novell as a Pre-Sales Technology Consultant. He also spent four years as an Infrastructure Architect at National Australia Bank.

Darren McCullum, VMware Business Manager - EMC Australia and New Zealand

Darren McCullum is EMC’s VMware & Cisco Business Manager for Australia and New Zealand.  The Business Management role sees McCullum driving the VMware virtualisation and Cisco Unified Network and Compute agendas within EMC, working with EMC customers, staff and partners and raising their awareness of EMC’s integration with, and enablement of, VMware and Cisco’s suite of solutions. Additional responsibility lies in working with VMware and Cisco in an Alliances capacity, and ensuring that the two companies are equally well versed in the multitude of points of integration and value that EMC brings to the equation.

McCullum has worked within the IT industry for more than twenty years and has extensive experience in delivering IT infrastructure solutions to organisations, from end user computing, x86, RISC and MIPS based computing architectures, enterprise storage, enterprise management and consulting and support services. He has hands on experience in delivering operationally complete virtualisation platforms to large enterprise customers and has real-world understanding of the value gained from service and outcome based approaches to IT.

Prior to joining EMC, McCullum worked at VMware in the role of Strategic Account Manager, representing VMware’s solution set to some of Australia’s largest organisations. Before VMware, he worked with two of the world’s largest IT companies in Enterprise Account Management roles.

David Chesterfield, Manager Infrastructure Services - QR National

David has more than 30 years experience in the IT industry, and currently has the role of Manager Infrastructure Services at QR National. He is responsible for data-centre, platform, storage and application services as well as disaster recovery and BCP. David's career includes 15 years in leadership roles in organisations such as Suncorp, where he was the Data Centre Manager.

David has spent most of his career in the banking and finance sectors, primarily in the Infrastructure space and has spent time in Quality Management. He is versed in management frameworks such as ITIL and Six sigma, and has co-authored the "IT Service Management Global Best Practices", drawing on his extensive experience in the industry. 

Dean Jackson, Technical Consultant – EMC Australia and New Zealand

Dean is a Technical Consultant with EMC where he has been for over 8 years. In his role, Dean is responsible for designing complex EMC storage and application solutions, across different markets and is recognised as a leading technical consultant within the Australia and New Zealand.

Dean started with EMC in Canada where, for four years, he was a solutions architect. He was responsible for supporting complex data migrations as well as designing and laying out large arrays. In this role he was also responsible for the overall architecture and the application solution design.

Since joining EMC in ANZ, Dean has taken on responsibility for supporting high end storage platforms and the EMC application solutions for Oracle, SQL, Exchange and SAP.

Dean holds a number of industry certifications, such as a “Certificate in ITSM”, “EMC Proven Master Architect” and “Cisco Certified Design Associate”. Dean also has extensive experience as a systems administrator on both HPUX and Solaris.

Glen Hyatt, Advisory Technology Consultant – EMC A/NZ

Glen is an advisory technology consultant for EMC Australia and New Zealand with over 21 years IT experience. Since joining EMC in 2001, Glen has worked extensively with many of Australia’s largest organisations, designing their enterprise storage, connectivity and disaster recovery environments.
Glen holds the “expert” level of EMC Proven Professional certification for Symmetrix and Business Continuity and is also a Cisco Certified Specialist in Data Center Network Infrastructure Design.

Glen held Unix consulting positions with Hewlett Packard, IBM Global Services and worked as a Unix administrator in the finance and telecommunications industries.

John Schaper, Technical Solutions Architect - Cisco Systems

John Schaper is a Technical Solutions Architect at Cisco Systems specializing in Data Center. John has been in the compute and network fields for 25 years and has been at Cisco for 11 years. John holds a current CCIE in Service Provider.
John has worked with large Service Providers building Cloud solutions as well as working with Enterprise customers and partners building complex Data Center solutions based on Cisco’s wide range of Data Center products.

Lou Sassani, Senior Technical Consultant Backup and Recovery Systems - EMC Australia

Lou is a senior technical consultant in EMC’s Backup and Recovery Systems group. He is responsible for helping customers re-engieer their data protection systems using deduplicated disk based technologies.
Lou has been in the IT industry for 25 years with the last 5 at EMC. His experience ranges from Mainframes to the current open systems. Lou’s career spans both vendor and end users, such as AXA, NAB, ANZ, Sassani and Storage Tek.

Mark Pratley, General Manager – Telstra's Network Computing Services

Mark Pratley has more than twenty years experience in the Information Technology Communications (ICT) sector, more than ten of those years with Telstra.

Mark is the General Manager of Telstra's Network Computing Services, the product group responsible for Telstra's Cloud Computing Solutions.

Telstra have embraced ICT as a key enabler to offering a broader range of solutions which help drive collaboration, productivity and efficiency from the network layer, allowing customers to leverage productivity gains and innovation benefits. In his role, Mark is responsible for those technologies and solutions which include deep integration with complex networks as fundamental to their core enablement.

Previously, Mark was a Managed Solutions Sales Executive with the Telstra acquired KAZ Group, working with IT services customers across Media, Finance and Manufacturing. Prior to that, Mark held a variety of roles within Telstra and IBM owned Advantra. He also worked for IBM Australia in a number of roles, including within IBM Global Financing, as well as IBM Procurement.

Mark holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics majoring in statistics from the University of New England, New South Wales.

Mick Regan, Partner Enablement – EMC Asia Pacific

Mick brings more than 20 years experience in the IT industry, to his current role which he has held since 2008. Mick is responsible for enabling EMCs’ partners to profit from spreading the word of Information Infrastructure and the concept of the Virtual Enterprise. Mick has made it his mission to help people make technology presentations interesting, accessible and painless to grasp, but still making it entertaining and informative.

Mick has spent time in the US, UK and Asian markets in a range of roles from Director to Marketing Executive and Field Technologies. His career has included the development of an industry leading strategy and tactical workshop, which has been adopted by a number of the industry’s leading IT corporation, most recently working independently developing e-learning programs for the IT industry.

Mick’s evangelism is firmly grounded in a technical understanding of voice, data, video and application networking. He began his career installing and maintaining PBXs, spent five years at Cray Communications, worked for Cisco Systems, and Nortel Networks.

Mike Bookey, VMware Australia

Mike Bookey  has worked as a technical lead in the IT industry for 20 years, and has worked for the  last  6 years in the Virtualisation Industry. Mike has been with VMware Australia since early 2006. Mike’s passion is working with organisations to realise the benefits and savings associated with Virtualisation technology. Recent projects involve working with organisations to design and implement the next generation of Virtual datacenters.

Nick McMenemy, National Practice Manager - Thomas Duryea Consulting

Nick is a the National Practice Manager for Cloud Services at Thomas Duryea Consulting and was responsible for bringing the TD private cloud solution, Cloudium, to the market. With over 17 years IT experience across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, Nick has a broad knowledge base spaning sales, marketing, product management and business development.

Paul Campbell MBT (UNSW) GAICD - Director, Information Technology - Australian Catholic University

Paul Campbell is currently the Director, Information Technology at Australian Catholic University with more than 20 years’ experience in the ICT industry. He has previously held ICT management roles with Clayton Utz, Commonwealth Bank, Zurich Australia, and Deloitte.

His experience has been a valuable asset in leading critical ACU initiatives including: Strengthening the reliability and efficiency of IT infrastructure, improving the ACU IT service experience, and leading the CRM business strategy, the review of University processes,the review of Online Learning Environment and the development and implementation of the ACU IT Thematic Plans.

Paul has also worked with Council of Australian University Directors of Information Technology (CAUDIT) members at a state and national level to progress University sector initiatives including the Victorian eLearning forum, Queensland Health Research Access project and the University Integrated Dashboard project.

Formal qualifications include: Master of Business and Technology (UNSW), andAustralian Institute of Company Director graduate diploma. In 2009 and 2010, Paul represented ACU in the St Vincent’s CEO Sleepout. Outside of ACU, Paul enjoys playing golf, following sport and spending time with his family.

Pieter DeGunst - Director of Sales and Marketing - Tecala ICT Pty Ltd

Pieter DeGunst is approaching 15 years in the ICT industry having held a variety of consulting and sales roles, primarily responsible for business development.

He joined the Tecala Group in 2006 as Director of Sales and Marketing and is currently responsible for strategic planning and consulting, new business development, account management and partner relationships.  Within these roles, his focus is on ensuring that Tecala remains focussed on succesful long term partnerships with their client base, and ensuring the highest standards are met in industry credentials, vendor certification and procurement and panel agreements.

Peter Prowse - General Manager, Data Centre Solutions - Dimension Data

In his role as General Manager, Peter is responsible for managing the operations and continuing the growth of the Dimension Data’s Data Centre Solutions (DCS) group, which provides data centre and storage services and solutions to the enterprise market in Australia.

Roger Burgess - Chief Information Officer - ISS Facility Services Australia

During his time at ISS Roger has been pivotal in the execution the IT vision which has placed ISS at the cutting edge of technology. His emphasis on continual innovation and development cohesive with the dynamic nature of the Facility Services industry has cemented ISS' foundation for future growth.

Shaun McLagan - Regional Director Backup and Recovery Services - EMC Australia and New Zealand

Shaun McLagan is the Regional Director for EMC Backup and Recovery Systems (BRS) Division in Australia and New Zealand.  BRS is a Division of EMC that assists customers and partners in dealing with the challenging and dynamic landscape that is Backup and Recovery today. 

The BRS Division was created in 2009 as a result of EMC’s purchase of Data Domain and its integration into the existing BuRA team in EMC.  Today this team in Australia and New Zealand consists of over 30 Sales, PreSales and Channel professionals focused on delivering the next generation of protection needs for the Australia and New Zealand market place.

Shaun has over 18yrs of IT experience globally with the most recent being 5yrs with EMC in Australia focused around Backup and Recovery.  He moved from Sales to Management in 2008 before taking on the newly created role of BRS Director in 2010.  Previous experience spans from Sales to Consulting and PreSales roles at Oracle in Canada as well as HP and CA in Australia.

Wesley has over 6yrs of IT experience with the most recent being 4yrs with EMC in Australia focused around Backup and Recovery. During this time Wesley has worked with a number of EMC’s large Enterprise and Commercial customers assisting them in the redesign of their backup environments with focus around cost savings, efficiency and problem solving.
