SYNOPSES:

9.00 - 10.00am
Keynote: Virtual Data Centre of the Future

Joint keynote: EMC, VMware & Cisco

The contradiction of needing to underpin your business with an agile and responsive IT infrastructure whilst cutting back on expenditure is leaving many organisations puzzled.

Fortunately Virtualisation solves many of those issues. A virtualized datacenter requires scale, performance, integration, support and, most of all, vision in order to deliver on its promises.

This year's keynote presentation features the 3 industry leaders sharing their unified vision for the virtualized datacenter, how each contributes to creating this revolution in the industry, and just what outcomes organisations can expect from this strategic combination.

10.30 - 11.15am
Next Generation Data Protection - De duplication is just the start

Joint presentation: EMC and Dimension Data

Every day, backup challenges just get bigger. Missed backup windows, increasing service levels and stagnant or shrinking IT budgets are just some of the challenges magnified by today's explosive data growth rates.

During this session we will discuss how you can leverage data de-duplication technologies to reduce your data footprint and associated costs, while storing more data, in less time, more often, for longer periods - and provide faster access to that data.

Also, Dimension Data will discuss data de-duplication, the merits of available technologies, and identify how to save cost from your backup operations.

11.15 - 12.00pm
Efficient and Intelligent Mid-Tier Storage and why EMC CLARiiON is the default choice for VMware!

Joint presentation: EMC and Dell

CLARiiON is the leading mid-tier storage platform and has introduced a number of technologies that set it apart from the rest of the storage market. The Celerra has introduced data-deduplication, compression and compliant file level retention.

This session will look at the new capabilities such as flash drives and virtual provisioning that have helped increase utilisation, reduce costs and simplify administration. Of particular interest will be the new integration with the vStorage API's from VMware, providing an amazing platform for virtulisation.

1.00 - 1.45pm
Redefining storage architectures: EMC Symmetrix today and how all storage will be built tomorrow

The next generation of storage is on the way, and it's being re-designed to fit the virtual datacenter of the future.

This session will look at how the leading high-end storage system, EMC's Symmetrix, will fit into this new computing architecture.

Attendees will hear about the impact of the virtual datacenter on the storage layer, while learning about the direction and new features of Symmetrix and how it is re-defining storage architecture.

1.45 - 2.30pm
Dollars and Sense: Improve Operational Efficiencies, Lower Costs with EMC SourceOne

See how the newly announced EMC SourceOne family can help reduce costs and improve operational efficiency for Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes/Domino environments.

The demo of EMC SourceOne Email Management will show customers how they can proactively manage mailbox sizes - lifting restrictive user mailbox quotas while providing seamless user access to archived content. Email Management also features new capabilities to collect and centrally manage PST files scattered through your organisation.

3.00 - 3.45pm
High Density Consolidation in a VMware vSphere environment

Joint presentation: EMC and VMware

In today's ever-changing world of storage two facts are becoming inevitable:
1. The need to consolidate further through virtualisation in order to minimise cost and complexity 2. The evolution of Virtual Infrastructure to vSphere – making the 100% virtualised datacenter possible

Join EMC and VMware to discover how to build and deploy high-density consolidation in a vSphere environment, with specific focus on demonstrating scale, performance, high availability and tight technology integration.

EMC and VMware, two industry leaders, will help demystify what vSphere will mean for the customer's environment and what's involved in building the most robust, scaleable solution possible.

3.45 - 4.30pm
Securing Sensitive Information in a Mobile and Virtual World

Joint presentation: EMC RSA and Dimension Data

RSA and Microsoft have integrated DLP with AD RMS to automate the application of RMS protection and policies to sensitive data at rest. With this solution, customers can discover sensitive legacy documents at rest and automatically apply RMS protection using a centrally managed set of policies.

In this session, attendees will:

  • Discover how to find and protect their most important information today with best in class RSA DLP and ERM solutions
  • Learn to leverage data security processes and workflows already in place
  • Identify ways to reduce the cost and complexity of securing information across the enterprise
